How to include Geo Authentication in your processes
You’ve heard about it, you’ve read about it, you might have even seen the demo. Now you’re wondering, how exactly can Geo Authentication be embedded in your apps and processes?
Good news. You have options. From API integrations to end-to-end authentication challenges, let’s take a deeper look:
End-to-end
As the heading suggests, our end-to-end authentication handles everything from building the Geo Authentication challenge, delivering the challenge via SMS or email, verifying the result, and finally reporting back to you. Simply provide Honey Badger with an address or location, an email or mobile number for delivery, and a destination for the authentication result (such as a webhook, redirection URL or even a third-party system).
The user being authenticated will receive an email or SMS with a link they can click. Upon clicking the link, they just select the images they recognize and within seconds are authenticated. You’ll be notified of the result in real time, so depending on the result you can take the appropriate action.
End-to-end is a great way to get started because it requires no-code or very little integration setup. It’s also perfect for situations such as call centers where agents can use Honey Badger to easily issue authentication challenges directly to people’s devices.
Embeddable
If you have users accessing your services through a web interface or mobile app then consider our embeddable authentication challenges. Since you already have a communication channel established you can simply embed and load our Geo Authentication widget as and when required.
The authentication challenge will happen natively within your app or website. That’s right! The user never has to navigate away! Then, once the response is captured, you’ll get notified of the result and can take the appropriate course of action.
This setup is great during applications, password or account resets and other situations where a user is already engaged with your services.
API
Whilst the two approaches above can be controlled via our API, Honey Badger also provides deeper levels of integration through additional APIs that allow you to build your own authentication challenges. Designed primarily for developers, you can request the raw data required to perform a Geo Authentication challenge. This means you have full control over the look and feel of the challenges you create.
API integration also works great for partners that want to white label Honey Badger’s patent-pending technology to compliment or enhance their offering.
